Douglas Development Partnership was founded in 2001 from the original Douglas 2000 initiative. The Partnership aims to improve the image and environment of the Island’s capital making it an even better place to live, work and visit by working with other organisations to develop and deliver projects and by improving levels of communication and co-ordination between partners.
It is a non-profit-making company limited by guarantee which has been established in partnership between Douglas Borough Council and the Isle of Man Chamber of Commerce. The Partnership is funded by the local authority and through the subscription of local businesses.
The company is headed by a Board of Directors which meets on a quarterly basis to agree strategy and budgets, and an Advisory Group which meets monthly to guide operational issues. The everyday management of the Partnership is conducted from the Partnership office on Victoria Street by three members of staff.
